Ministry of Textiles is organizing a mega event ‘Textiles lndia-2020’ in December 2020 on virtual platform. In order to ensure effective coordination of activities and monitoring the progress, a high level committee under chairmanship of Shri Vijoy Kumar Singh, IAS, AS&FA, Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India has been constituted wherein Chairman/ ED of Core Councils are Members.
Today 26th October, 2020, meeting of the High level Committee on Textiles India-2020 was held through Video Conferencing under the Chairmanship of Shri Vijoy Kumar Singh, IAS, AS & FA, Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India. Shri Sanjay Rastogi, IAS, Development Commissioner (Handloom), Shri Shantmanu, IAS, Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Shri Jay Karan Singh, Trade Advisor, Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India were present. Chairman and Executive Directors of CEPC, AEPC, TEXPROCIL, SRTEPC, EPCH were also present in the meeting. Shri Siddh Nath Singh, Chairman, CEPC represented the Carpet Export Promotion Council and Handmade Carpet Industry in the meeting.
Shri Siddh Nath Singh informed the Committee that CEPC is organizing India Carpet Expo from 2000 and have experience for organizing more than 40 Expos. Shri Siddh Nath Singh mentioned that Council require sufficient time for mobilizing participation of Members and visit of overseas buyers in Expo. Shri Siddh Nath Singh suggested to finalize the dates at the earliest and inform that due to non-finalization of the dates of Textiles India – 2020, EPCs are facing difficulty in finalizing the date of their activities.
Committee discussed in details the various aspect for organizing the Textiles India-2020 and decided to finalize and announce the dates for the event at the earliest.
Shri V.K. Singh and Shri Jaykaran Singh requested Chairman and representatives of all EPCs present to make use of their experience and expertise to make the Textiles India – 2020 a grand success. The other things will be finalized in subsequent days.
