Today the 28th February, 2020 Carpet Export Promotion Council has organized a SEMINAR on “The Awareness of GST & Discussion on Strategy for Enhancing Export” at Agra under the aegis of O/o The Development Commissioner (H), Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India. The Seminar was inaugurated by Shri Siddh Nath Singh Chairman CEPC. Other distinguished guest Sh. Umesh Kumar Gupta COA Member CEPC, Sh. Bodh Raj Malhotra COA CEPC, Sh. R. D. Sharma, President Agra Floor Covering Association & Sh. Muktesh Pathank, HPO, Handicraft Service Center Agra graced the occasion by their presence.
Shri Siddh Nath Singh, Chairman, CEPC extended warm welcome to all distinguished guest; artisans & exporters who were presented in the Seminar. Shri Siddh Nath Singh in his address mentioned that the Council is committed to resolve all the problems of the Artisans & Exporters. Sh. Singh special thanks to the women artisans and her contribution in Indian Handmade Carpet Industry.
Sh. Muktesh Pathank Handicraft Professional Officer from Handicraft Service center Agra O/o Development Commissioner (Handicrafts) apprised about the various schemes of O/o Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Ministry of Textiles Govt of India.
Council invited the Professional Experts on “GST” & “Strategy for Enhancing Export” to lift up the Artisans & Exporters in present trade scenario. Study Material on said topic also circulated between Artisans / Exporters.
Sh. Rashid Ansari, State Awardee in Durry from Agra shared his experience and tell about various techniques of making durries.
Sh. Sanjay Kumar, Executive Director CEPC mentioned that artisans are the backbone of the handmade carpet industry and Carpet Export Promotion Council is continually working to nourish the skills of Artisans by conducing training programmes, Seminars & workshops.
