Carpet Export Promotion Council Distributed Medicines And Ration To Weavers
The whole nation is fighting against the pandemic COVID-19 (Corona), the country is passing through a critical position. Hon’ble Prime Minister has created a special PM CARES Fund to fight against the COVID-19 and whole nation is supporting generously for this noble cause. As a responsible body set up by Govt. of India Carpet Export Promotion participate generously for this noble cause and already donated to the Rs. 10 Lakh in PM CARES Fund & Rs 5 Lakh in UP CM Relief Fund and Staff of the Council also contributed one day salary towards the PM CARES.
Though Govt. is doing their best to bring things to normalcy but the position of Artisans and their families in Carpet belt are not good and they are facing problem in getting proper Medicare and Rations.
Shri Siddh Nath Singh, Chairman, CEPC and whole Committee of Administration (COA) CEPC further decided that Council will extends the hand of support to the poor artisans and their families to contribute a sum of Rs. 1.00 lakh each for three districts of Bhadohi, Mirzapur and Srinagar towards the Medicine and Ration for the weavers and their families.
On 5th August, 2020 a camp was organized for distribution of Ration and Medicines to the poor artisans and their families in CEPC’S Regional Office at Srinagar under the dynamic leadership of Shri Umar Hameed, 2nd Vice-Chairman, CEPC, Shri Shiekh Ashiq, Member COA & President KCCI ,Shri Ghulam Nabi Bhatt, Member COA.
Shri Shahid Chodhury IAS, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Additional D.C. Shri Hanief Balki, Shri Jahangir Bhakshi, Chief Medical officer Srinagar and other officers from District Administration have also graced the occasion. Sh. Choudhry appreciated the efforts of Carpet Export promotion Council for donating generously for the weavers of Srinagar. He further mentioned about the unique large Sized Handmade Carpet 35×70 which is under the manufacturing process and is getting ready very soon in the District Baramulla.
Sh. Umer Hamid, 2nd Vice- chairman, CEPC welcomed the officials with bouquet of floors and mentioned that its privilege for CEPC that senior officials of the district spared their valuable time for the distribution ceremony. He further thanked SH. Siddh Nath Singh, Chairman of Carpet Export Promotion Council for taking the effort for this noble cause for brilliant idea for this noble cause.
Sh, Sheikh Ashiq, COA member CEPC and President, Kashmir Chamber of Commerce extended formal vote of thanks to dignitaries and appreciated the efforts of Chairman CEPC for his intervention for the weavers of Srinagar.
During his message Sh. Siddh Nath Singh, Chairman CEPC thanked the all colleagues of Committee of Administration (COA) for their wonderful support for supporting the cause while organising this programme. Further he thanked Shri Shahid Chodhury IAS, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Shri Hanief Balki, Additional D.C. & Shri Jahangir Bhakshi, Chief Medical officer Srinagar for their gracious presence during the event. Chairman Congratulated Sh. Umer Hamid, 2nd Vice-Chairman, CEPC, Shri Shiekh Ashiq, Member COA & President KCCI, Shri Ghulam Nabi Bhatt, Member COA for sparing their valuable time and organising wonderful event for the benefit of artisans of the valley.
