INAUGURATION OF BHADOHI CARPET EXPO MART

Today, 31st December, 2020 – Shri Yogi Adityanath, Hon’ble Chief Minister of U.P. visited the Bhadohi for inauguration of 10  projects  including inauguration of Bhadohi Carpet Expo Mart and laying foundation stone for 5 projects. Hon’ble CM also distributed cheques to the beneficiaries under different schemes in the presence of Shri Sidharth Nath Singh. Hon’ble Minister. MSME & Export Promotion, U.P Govt., Shri Rama Shanker Singh Patel, Hon’ble Power Minister, Shri Ramesh Chand Bind, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Bhadohi, Shri Ravinder Tripathi, MLA Bhadohi, Shri Dina Nath Bhasker, MLA Aurai, Shri Siddh Nath Singh, Chairman, Carpet Export Promotion Council, Shri Navneet Sehgal, IAS. Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) MSME & Export Promotion and other Senior Officials.

Shri Umesh Kumar Gupta, Shri Onkar Nath Misra, Shri Rajendra Prasad Mishra ,Shri Sanjay Kumar Gupta, Members COA, CEPC, Shri Omkar Nath Mishra, President AICMA, Aslam Mehboob, Honorary Secretary AICMA, and Shri Sanjay Kumar, Executive Director, CEPC  were also present on the occasion.

Hon’ble Minister in his speech give heartfelt congratulation to all Bhadohi based Carpet Exporters and others connected with the Handmade Carpet Industry. Hon’ble Chief Minister mentioned that he is waiting for almost one year to inaugurate the Bhadohi Carpet Expo Mart and to greet the Handicraft Artisans/ weavers of the area who with their workmanship give a recognition to the Bhadohi Distt. Hon’ble Chief Minister mentioned that he came especially to convey his  thanks to all the Exporters and all stake holders who with their entrepreneurship without any Govt. support gave new identification to the Bhadohi not only in the nation but in International markets.

Hon’ble Shri Yogi ji mentioned that when he came in the year 2019 he mentioned that he will came again for inauguration of Bhadohi Carpet Expo Mart but due to COVID-19 from March to December, 2020 (today the last day) the whole Govt. is working to save the 24 Crore peoples of Uttar Pradesh under the guidance of Hon’ble Prime Minister.

Hon’ble Chief Minister assured full support from the State Government for the growth and benefit of Handmade Carpet Industry – weavers, Exporters and all connected with the carpet trade.

Shri Yogi Mentioned that to fulfil the vision of Hon’ble Prime Minister “Atman Nirbhar Bharat” the State Govt. started the One District One Product (ODOP) Scheme and include Bhadohi Carpets in the ODOP Scheme.  Shri Yogi mentioned that all Districts of Uttar Pradesh has their own identification with different products.

Shri Yogi mentioned that he feels very happy in inaugurating the Bhadohi Carpet Expo Mart, we came here to give market to the Carpet of Bhadohi and also laying foundation stone for the other projects of Rs. 200 Crores here for the growth of the Bhadohi district. Bhadohi is contributing 80% in the Carpet Exports of the Country.

Hon’ble Chief Minister Mentioned that this Bhadohi Carpet Expo Mart will bring the whole world Market or overseas Buyers to the exporters and weavers at their home in Bhadohi and expressed hope that the Mart will be beneficial to all stake holders.

Hon’ble Chief Minister also briefed the other schemes and planning of the State Govt. for the progress and growth of the Uttar Pradesh.

Hon’ble Chief Minister conveyed thanks to the Chairman and all office bearers of Carpet Export Promotion Council.

Shri Siddh Nath Singh informed  that Carpet Export Promotion Council has finally taken over the Bhadohi Carpet Expo Mart and shifted its Regional Office in the Mart.  Shri Siddh Nath Singh informed that Mart is build in 7.5 Acre and is fully air conditioned with lifts and other facilities of international level. Mart is having 2 Exhibition Halls of 35,000 Sq, Ft. each,   94 permanent shops for display of Handmade Carpets and other floor coverings and conference room. Council will built a restaurant of international standard on 2nd floor in 17000 sq. ft., BIDA has already allotted space near mart for construction of 5 Start Hotel of International level. Council will organize 2 International Exhibitions in a year in which Overseas Buyers from 60 countries will visit.  Council will also organize 5-7 Domestic Exhibitions of – Garments, Leather Products, Jute Products, Handicrafts, North East Products, Moradabad Brass, Mirzapur Bartans etc. More than 600 exporters and Artisans of Bhadohi and Mirzapur will be directly get benefit of the mart.

Council is in the process to make the mart fully functional by allotment of shops and organizing Exhibitions of International Level and already requested State Govt. for their support in the form of infrastructure development of the area i.e. improvement in the connected Roads of Mart from Airport and adjoining areas, construction of good hotels of international level for stay of international buyers etc. and already received assurance for full support from the Statement Govt.

Shri Siddn Nath Singh expressed hope that with the blessing and support of the Hon’ble Chief Minister the exports of Indian Handmade Carpets will be doubled in the next 2 years, will provide gainful employment to artisans and will open new avenues for all the stake holders.
