MEETING OF CEPC COMMITTEE MEMBERS – To discuss and formulate the policy on functioning/ running of Bhadohi Carpet Expo Mart

Today, 12th January, 2021 – Carpet Export Promotion Council convened a meeting of the Committee Members to discuss and formulate the policy on functioning/ running of Bhadohi Carpet Expo Mart under the Chairmanship of Shri Siddh Nath Singh. Shri Umesh Kumar Gupta, Shri Abdul Rub, Shri Rajendra Prasad Mishra, Shri Mohd. Wasif Ansari, Shri Husain Jafar Husaini, Shri Sanjay Kumar Gupta, Members COA, CEPC and Shri Sanjay Kumar, Executive Director, CEPC attended the Meeting.
Shri Tanvir Hussain, Vice President, AICMA, Shri Aslam Mahboob, Hony. Secretary, AICMA, Shri Raj Kumar Bothra, Hony. Jt. Secretary, AICMA, Shri J.P. Gupta, Treasurer, AICMA, Shri Bharat Lal Maurya, Ex-COA, CEPC , Shri Piyush Baranwal, Shri Sobha Nath Gupta, Shri Imtiaz Ahmad, Shri Pankaj Baranwal, Shri Saurav Jaiswal, Shri Anil Keshari, Shri Divya Baranwal, Shri Kunwar Shamim Ansari and Shri Atique Khan, prominent Member-Exporters were also present in the meeting.
Shri Siddh Nath Singh, Chairman, CEPC informed that Carpet Expo Mart at Bhadohi is a Green Mart with Solar Power, having 94 permanent shops of approx.. 130 sq. mtr. for display of Handmade Carpets and other floor coverings. Mart is also having exhibition area / Hall 7000 sq. mtr. In his opening remark Shri Singh mentioned that we are moving from “HANGER TO RUNWAY” and after making functional of this mart Carpet industry is going to Take off in a Big way. He mentioned that Mart is centrally air conditioned with all other facilities of international standard i.e. well furnished conference hall, provision of 5 restaurants, 8 Lifts, wi-fi, CCTV, Central Public Address System, sufficient Parking etc. He mentioned that Council has already shifted its Regional Office in the Mart w.e.f. 14th December, 2020 and BIDA has already allotted space near mart for construction of 5 Start Hotel of International level.
After meeting Shri Siddh Nath Singh, Chairman, CEPC informed that Council received the very encouraging response from the Member and 41 shops in the mart were sold on the spot. Shri Singh, further informed that Council is in the process to make the mart fully functional by allotment of shops and will allot at least 60% shops to the Carpet Exporters and rest other products like Handicrafts, Sari etc also may be given opportunity. Shri Siddh Nath Singh further informed that the modalities for allotment of shops are under finalization and Council will make allotments thereafter. He informed that Council will organize at least 2-3 International Exhibitions in a year and 5-7 Domestic Exhibitions of Handmade Carpets and other floor coverings and other products like – Garments, Leather Products, Jute Products, Handicrafts, North East Products, Moradabad Brass, Mirzapur Bartans etc.
Shri Siddh Nath Singh expressed hope that with the support of the Member the exports of Indian Handmade Carpets will be doubled in the next 2 years and will provide gainful employment to artisans and will open new avenues for all the stake holders.
