Today, 22nd December, 2020 – Indian Handmade Carpet Industry plays an important role in our economy and it provides employment to a vast segment of craft persons in rural and semi urban areas and also generates substantial foreign exchange, while preserving traditional heritage of the country.
Council is committed for the growth of the Indian Handmade Carpet Industry stands in firm support of the industry. Industry is facing problem due to the closure of dying units by the Pollution Control Board.
Shri Siddh Nath Singh led a delegation of Sh onkar Nath Mishra, President AiCMa, sh. ashlam Mehboob, Hon’ ble Secretary AICMa, Imteyaz Ahmed, Pankaj Barnwal Rupesh Barnwal, Deepak Srivastava prominent exporters & Shri Sanjay Kumar, Executive Director, CEPC have meetings with Shri Bhuvnesh Kumar, IAS, Principal Secretary, Animal Husbandry, Govt. of U.P., Shri Ashish Tiwari, IFS, Member Secretary, UP Central Pollution Control Board regarding closing of units in Bhadohi on the issue of Pollution.
Shri Siddh Nath Singh mentioned that most of the units are following all the norms and installed the required equipment’s while the remaining are in the process of upgrading their units and requested for sympathetic consideration to save the livelihood of millions of poor artisans and other associated with the Handmade Carpet Industry.
Shri Tiwari assured his full support and cooperation to the Industry and mentioned that within one week samples will be rechecked and units will be opened for a month.
